Credit recovery may be needed if a student has received a grade of “D” or “F” at any point. Credit recovery action is required for graduation and/or college admission purposes. If your student has received a "D" or "F" as a semester grade, please consult the Credit Recovery Options below.
Credit Recovery Options
A grade of “F” may put your student in jeopardy for graduation or eligibility to return to Marist. A class may need to be taken in order to satisfy that credit. While a “D” may be allowed for graduation purposes, the reality is that 4-year universities view “D” and “F” as not passing. Additionally, unless it is made up, a grade of “D” in Math may prevent a student from advancing in that subject at Marist.
Credit recovery work done by a student does not replace a grade already on a transcript. Rather, an additional grade will be transcripted, hopefully showing a higher grade than the previous one in a specific course. Credit recovery options recognized and accepted by Marist Catholic High School include the following:

Marist English Department Credit Recovery Option
Mrs. Beth Wirth will be teaching this course through iUniversity.
Throughout this course, you will be journaling, participating in online discussions as well as writing two essays at the end of each text.
The course cost is $250. Email your counselor if you would like to enroll.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, by Mark Haddon. This novel told from the perspective of Christopher, a math-obsessed boy with Autism who is on a quest to solve a mystery in his neighborhood. It’s a fun, quirky book that we will enjoy discussing together.
American Born Chinese, a graphic novel by by Gene Luen Yang about a young boy’s life adjusting as a first generation American. This story balances hardship and humor.
